I. MESSAGE FROM CABA
With the first four months of 2011 out of the way, and Spring almost nearing its end, we have had a busy first few months. In keeping with my goals for remembering our heritage and mentoring our future, April was quite meaningful.
We had our Spring Mentoring Luncheon which fostered the perfect environment for meeting with and advising our young law students. This past April we also commemorated the Bay of Pigs Invasion with an event that hosted over 200 people. Many Judges, politicians and legislators were in attendance. We thank all who participated in both these events.
April was also a month focused on Tallahassee and the actions of our legislators. We hope that the end of Session in May will allow us to maintain the status quo with respect to funding of our courts, State Attorney and Public Defender.
In May we will focus on our members with our Membership Happy Hour on May 12, 2011. We will also offer educational opportunities by partnering up with our local bar associations for the Marlins 2011 Lawyer Appreciation Night on May 9 and our Diversity Summit on May 20.
