CUBAN AMERICAN BAR ASSOCIATION 2010 JUDICIAL POLL - Additional
Dear Colleague:
The Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) is dedicated to its members and to the fair treatment of Hispanics in the legal system. One way CABA can benefit its members and the community is through its judicial poll. This poll is completely confidential and the ballots will be tabulated by the certified accounting firm of Goldstein Schechter Koch, thus underscoring its integrity. The poll is designed to educate the electorate about the qualifications of judicial candidates. It is an effective mechanism for our members to express their views on the present and future judiciary. Most importantly, the judicial poll will be shared with the community.
This year the poll has gone Green and is being distributed via email, instead of paper, to provide ease of response. In order to make this poll meaningful, your participation is critical. The electronic ballot will take less than three (3) minutes to fill out. The poll consists of incumbent judges, incumbent judges facing re-election, candidates for judicial elections, and magistrates. In addition to questions pertaining to qualifications, the electronic ballot contains a question regarding the fair and equitable treatment of Hispanics by the judge/candidate.
PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY!!
- Mark your ballot
- Qualifications.
- For each judge/candidate you rate, please chose one item: “Exceptionally Qualified,” “Qualified,” or “Unqualified.”
- If you do not have an opinion about the qualifications of a judge/ candidate, please do not mark the electronic ballot with respect to that question.
- Fair and Equitable Treatment Toward Hispanics:
- For each candidate you rate, please chose an appropriate response, either “Yes” or “No.”
- If you do not have an opinion regarding whether a particular judge/candidate “treats Hispanics fairly and equitably, as well as demonstrates a responsiveness to their needs,” please do not mark the electronic ballot with respect to that question.
- If you have any questions, please contact President-Elect Victoria Méndez at 305-416-1832.
ELECTRONIC BALLOTS ARE TO BE COMPLETED NO LATER THAN 5 PM ON JULY 19, 2010. ANY ELECTRONIC BALLOT RECEIVED AFTER THAT DEADLINE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. BALLOTS NOT MARKED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL NOT BE COUNTED. BALLOTS WILL BE TABULATED BY THE ACCOUNTING FIRM OF GOLDSTEIN SCHECHTER KOCH.
Your participation is greatly appreciated!
